Getting the scoop on Solis gifts
When did Solis open?
In May of 2016. After carrying SCOUT bags and totes in Sativa for more than 10 years, SCOUT approached us about becoming a destination store. Realizing space was limited at Sativa, we knew this was the perfect opportunity to open a second store with more of a summertime vibe.
How is Solis different from your sister store Sativa?
The largest difference is that Solis is a seasonal, summer boutique and Sativa is a year-round general gift store.
What are some of your top-selling items?
The entire line of SCOUT; ARTichoke clothing, a local company based in Eastham; beach sheets by Beach Road Designs—oversized, lightweight sheets with fun colors and patterns; Ocean Love Design, an ocean-inspired jewelry line handmade in Wellfleet by Danielle Benton; and silicone wine glasses by Bendiware.
What do you look for when choosing merchandise?
We try to find unique and different things that you don’t find in every other shop in town. Before choosing products, we ask ourselves: Are the items fun? Would we use them? Do they fit in with our “summertime fun” theme?
What do you love most about your jobs?
Going to the tradeshows in Atlanta, Orlando and New York. When customers love the products that you have picked out for the shop, it’s such a great feeling, knowing you’ve chosen things that they can’t leave the store without.
Solis sells many great products, including:
