Eyes on the Pies

By Colby Radomski

Centerville Pie Co. kicks off the new year by serving up two newsworthy items. This month marks the launch of the company’s shepherd’s pie in grocery stores across New England, including Stop & Shop supermarkets, Roche Bros. and Market Basket. The delicious pies, made famous by Oprah Winfrey, are created in the company’s Centerville kitchen and then flash-frozen to preserve freshness. Later this spring, the popular Cape Cod eatery will open a new storefront at the Barnstable Municipal Airport to serve breakfast and lunch to travelers. The new location will be situated in the main terminal, and will feature a full-service grill, seating and walk-up service area. Owned by Kristin Broadley and Laurie Bowen, Centerville Pie Co. serves up decadent baked bliss in more than 18 different savory and sweet flavors—from signature chicken (their most popular), beef and barbecue pork to peach, cranberry and coconut cream. Those wanting a hearty sit-down meal can visit the Centerville Pie Co.’s restaurant for breakfast or lunch and try a slice (or two)! All flavors of pies, as well as other tasty baked treats, are available at the flagship bakery in Centerville as well as online. Since its famous introduction in 2009, the company has continued to grow while giving back to their community by partnering with Cape Abilities to employ more than 50 individuals with intellectual disabilities.
