New Kids on the Block

While planning their wedding in the summer of 2012, Brian and Melanie O’Neil came up with the idea of giving each of their siblings a wooden sign with their last name on it, spelled out in wooden block letters. Their family members absolutely loved them. The positive feedback and continued requests from family and friends for custom signs convinced the duo to begin making them in their spare time, in a small barn on their property.  Today, all production and business aspects of Rustic Marlin Designs are carried out in a 50,000-square-foot facility in Hanover, which serves as their primary headquarters. A variety of boutique stores throughout Cape Cod now carry Rustic Marlin products, including Periwinkle in Wellfleet; Roots in Provincetown; and Mayflower in Chatham. —Ann Luongo
