Ready for an Encore!

A trendy new American-style seafood restaurant located in historic Dennis Village will undoubtedly leave you asking for an encore. Operated by John C. Cuchetti, the same owner of the successful Sesuit Harbor Café, Encore Bistro & Bar opened in June and is already on track to becoming a go-to restaurant for Cape Cod foodies. The bistro’s location next to the Cape Playhouse makes it a large attraction for playgoers, and after 7:30 p.m., the dining room fills up with visitors eager to try one of Cape Cod’s newest eateries.  The bistro includes a large dining room and a separated bar space with high-top tables, thus offering a multitude of seating options. The interior design embodies traditional Cape Cod style with navy walls, white wood paneling and nautical paintings by local artists. The wait staff is friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. To start off the meal, I ordered the lobster and mango tower, which consists of layers of avocado, fresh lobster meat and mango salad, served with a lemongrass vinaigrette. It tasted just as good as it looked! For dinner, I tried the pan-seared duck breast covered in a rosemary and fig gastrique, which was a restaurant recommendation. The meat was perfectly cooked and extremely flavorful, and the accompanying mashed potatoes were prepared with a perfect combination of garlic and butter. I ended my meal with a decadent chocolate molten cake topped with homemade vanilla gelato from nearby GoodFellas Gelateria. From the first bite of bread to the last bite of cake, Encore Bistro & Bar proved itself to be an exceptionally promising establishment that has the menu and logistics to succeed for many years to come.—Emily Curley
